Our upcoming Paddle Quest will explore two properties managed by the Muskoka Conservancy!
Join Paddle Quest Leaders: Sue Sedgwick, Amanda Porter, Ayden Veitch on an adventure to Kitty’s Wish Nature Reserve, at the mouth of the Big East River, and nearby Robinson Lake Nature Reserve.
This Nature Quest will be capped at 12 participants. Registration required.
Date & Time
Wednesday, July 13, 2022 (Rain Day: Thursday, July 14, 2022)
· Arrive by 9:00am to get organized and sign the waiver.
· On the water by 9:30am.
Location
Start and finish at Hutcheson Beach on Lake Vernon
Address: 9 Hutcheson Beach Rd off Ravenscliffe Rd, Huntsville, ON, P1H 1N4.
· There is a large parking lot, porta-potty and sandy beach for easy launching.
· Paddle time approximately 3 hours.
· There is a dock at the access to Robinson Lake where we can get out and stretch our legs.
· Swimming is excellent at Hutcheson Beach!
Bring your own:
· Canoe or kayak. This is NOT suitable for Stand-Up Paddleboards,
· Paddles (including a spare), 15 m of floating rope, Lifejacket/PFD for each participant, whistle or other sound device, bailer.
· Hat, rain gear, snacks, water, shoes you can get wet.
Safety:
· All participants must be comfortable in the water and paddling in wind and waves.
· PFD’s must always be worn and done up, even if it is a scorcher of a day.
· All children under the age of 16 require an adult
