At Muskoka Conservancy, nature conservation is our core business.
Since 1987, we have helped protect 58 properties throughout Muskoka.
As of December 2024, we have under our protection:
58 Properties ~ 40 Nature Reserves & 18 Conservation Easements
Over 5,105 acres of land
Over 65,000 feet of riparian area
Over 880 acres of wetland
Some of our properties have trails and allow for public access.
Many of our properties are accessible by expert guided hikes, known as Nature Quests.
For more information, please contact us at 705-645-7393 ext 200.
A special note regarding the Dyer Memorial Nature Reserve ~ This property is located on a summer maintained road and
is therefore closed to the public from November 15 through mid-May.
Our Nature Reserves and Conservation Easements are located throughout Muskoka, helping to protect the watershed.
Our conservation lands are found on or near Lake Muskoka, Lake Joseph, Lake Rosseau, Lake of Bays, Skeleton Lake, Lake Vernon, Fairy Lake, Pen Lake and more.
All Muskoka Conservancy trails and paths are used at your own risk.
Muskoka Conservancy invites inquiries about potential land donations.
Due to limited resources, we must assess and prioritize potential land donations to ensure that they fit within our programs and science-based priorities. For more information on donating land, please contact our office at 705-645-7393.
Occasionally, prime conservation land enters the real estate market for sale. That’s why Muskoka Conservancy established our Quick Strike Fund. When good conservation opportunities arise, we can act fast to assemble an offer to purchase land.
Please call Scott Young for more information on land donation and conservation easements.
