Our mission is nature conservation in Muskoka.
We envision a healthy, resilient Muskoka that conserves natural spaces for our own and future generations.
To achieve our mission, Muskoka Conservancy is a registered charity and a Canadian corporation that operates as a land trust. That means we acquire ownership of properties and legally registered agreements with private property owners to protect land for nature conservation.
Over 4,615 acres of protected land
Over 64,279 feet of riparian area
Over 806 acres of wetland
Habitat for thousands of species, including at least 23 known species at risk
It takes a great many volunteers
to operate a land trust, and to offer an array of community conservation programs.
If you are interested in volunteering at Muskoka Conservancy, there are many ways you can become involved. Here are a few ~ be a Land Steward and help with property monitoring, lead or assist with a Nature Quest, help with trail maintenance or invasive species removal, or assist with our annual Native Plant sale. There are always opportunities to jump in!
Or maybe you have the right skills to join
our Board of Directors?
Whatever your interest,
we would love to hear from you!

We have to shift our attitude of ownership to nature to relationship with nature. The moment you change from ownership to relationship, you create a sense of the sacred.
