There are two upcoming Invasive Species Management events that we would love your help with!
We are recruiting volunteers to join us on July 26th, and August 9th to help manage two stands of invasive Phragmites on our Bert and Millie’s Marsh Nature Reserve.
Phragmites is an invasive wetland grass that was introduced to North America in the 1800s. It forms dense stands and spreads aggressively, negatively impacting species at risk. We have been working to eradicate the two stands on Bert and Millie’s Marsh over the past few years, and the time of year for “Phragmites Phighting” is here again.
Past experience with invasive species management is helpful but not required. We are looking for volunteers who are:
