Our upcoming Paddle Quest will explore
Muskoka River Delta Nature Reserve and J.P. McVittie Nature Reserve,
both protected by Muskoka Conservancy!
Join Paddle Quest leaders Amanda Porter and Sue Sedgwick on an paddling adventure to where the Muskoka River enters lake Muskoka (Muskoka River Delta NR) and stretch your legs on a full hike around our Eilean Gowan Island, where our J.P McVittie NR is located.
This Paddle Quest will be capped at 10 participants. Registration required.
Date & Time
Tuesday, July 4,2023 (Rain Day: July 6)
· Arrive by 9:00am to get organized and sign the waiver.
· On the water by 9:30am.
· Paddle time approximately 3 hours.
· Hike time: approximately 2 hours.
Location
Start and finish at the George Road Boat Launch
Address: 1048 George Rd, Bracebridge, ON P1L 1W8
· There is a large parking lot at the launch site.
· There is a public dock on Eilean Gowan Island where we can get out to stretch our legs and have a snack
Bring your own:
· Canoe or kayak. This is NOT suitable for Stand-Up Paddleboards,
· Paddles (including a spare), 15 m of floating rope, Lifejacket/PFD for each participant, whistle or other sound device, bailer.
· Hat, rain gear, snacks, water, shoes you can get wet.
Safety:
· All participants must be comfortable in the water and paddling in wind and waves.
· PFD’s must always be worn and done up, even if it is a scorcher of a day.
· All children under the age of 16 require an adult
Cost:
· A Muskoka Conservancy Membership is not required to participate, however donations will be accepted! Please visit muskokaconservancy.org to donate or become a member!
