Community events help us to stay engaged and get some publicity within the community. At these events, we typically have a table set up with information, merchandise items, newsletter, and membership sign ups and other, event dependent items. The purpose is to increase our visibility and answer any questions people might have. Events you can expect to attend might include; Fire and Ice Festival, Gravenhurst Ignite or Earth Day events.

Role Responsibilities:

·        Attend community events

·        Set up table/booth at events

·        Provide information to community members about MC

·        Take down table/booth

Qualifications:

·        Basic understanding of MC operations

·        Willingness to talk with community members about MC and encourage them to become members or sign up for newsletters

Equipment:

·        Table

·        Sign

·        Merchandise

·        Business cards

·        Talking points debrief for volunteers

Why we do it

These events are great ways to engage with the community and keep everyone up to date on our current projects and successes. They help us to spread the word and potentially reach a broader or new audience. It gives people the chance to ask us questions and become informed of our mission.
