Project Protect

Protect Muskoka

Project Protect is a Citizen Science initiative, aimed at increasing knowledge of Muskoka Conservancy properties. In our pilot year, 2018, we conducted bird and amphibian surveys on two different properties, the Upjohn Nature Reserve and the Bert Cross Family Nature Reserve. In 2019, we have increased the program to include eight different Muskoka Conservancy nature reserves, recording all frog species found in Muskoka during our amphibian surveys - great news! We hope to continue our surveys in 2020, with additional Muskoka Conservancy properties. Each of these properties requires a team to monitor frogs as well as a team to monitor birds. This means we need more volunteers! No experience is necessary, as we'll be running training events in January and February. All you need is a love for nature and a desire to help protect Muskoka.
