The opportunity:

Muskoka Conservancy is seeking three new members for our Board of Directors for the term running from June 2025 until 2028, with the opportunity for renewal, with experience and skills in financial management (preferably with a professional designation), fundraising and/or governance of not-for-profit organizations.

About us:

We are a registered charity, operating since 1987. As Muskoka’s nature conservation land trust, we are proud of our success in protecting 5,105 acres of land, 65,000 feet of riparian area, and over 800 acres of wetland. We engage in community conservation activities that inspire caring through love of the natural world. We function in an area that encompasses the watersheds of Muskoka’s lakes and rivers, from Algonquin Park to Georgian Bay, and from the Severn River and into parts of Parry Sound.

We need you!:

The Board meets 6-8 times annually (in-person and virtually). Board members provide advice and guidance to Muskoka Conservancy’s Executive Director and are expected to participate on one of the Board Committees.

We are excited for young, ambitious, and forward-thinking people to bring new ideas to our vision and mission. Honesty, integrity, independent decision-making, and objectivity are personal qualities that we consider necessary for board members to possess in order to properly fulfill their responsibilities. Universally shared qualities for board members include a commitment to duty of care and loyalty to our mission, vision, and purpose.

We are committed to diversity as it offers unique perspectives and ideas essential to innovation and our long-term viability and expansion.
