Laura Thomas has been a passionate advocate for nature since camping and exploring Ontario's wild spaces as a child and throughout her studies at the University of Waterloo, where she studied Environment and Resource Studies. Since graduating, she continued her interest in nature conservation working in outdoor education at Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre and volunteering in eco-tourism as a founding Director with the Heart of Georgian Bay. Most recently, Laura moved to Gravenhurst with her family, where she operates, Hidden Habitat, a native plant nursery that supports ecological landscaping design. An enthusiastic naturalist and certified Ontario Master Naturalist, Laura enjoys exploring Muskoka's natural landscapes and sharing her passion and knowledge. You can often find her exploring the many trails of Muskoka on foot, ski and bike. Laura chairs the Engagement Committee of the Board.
